Contest: Education a Universal Right

Monday April 12th, 2010

Education

In the world, there are 72 million children without any formal education or schooling. Their capacity to learn, thirst for knowledge, and desire to build a future for themselves are the same as those of the children that go to school daily.
However, war, poverty, inequality between sexes, and the need to simply survive ensure that not everyone has the same opportunities. The initiative of Blipoint’s Gallery contest, together with the Global Humanitaria NGO, is to vindicate, through art, access to Obligatory Universal Education, one of the objectives of the Millennium foreseen for 2015.
An exhibition will take place featuring the 20 winning images in the NIU space. The takings of the sale will be used for the educational projects of Global Humanitaria.

The exhibition with the 20 winning images will take place from October 21st until November 14th, 2010. In NIU. Espai Artístic Contemporani.

The city and the mask, the Caracas of Aaron Sosa.

Sunday October 25th, 2009

What does one think of when one thinks of Caracas?  When one is far away?  When one doesn’t know it?  When one is there, experiencing home and climate?  It is complex and useless to try to define this city, this geography trapped between mountains, this mixture of different bloods, languages, idiosyncracies, and cultures; this particular chaos that, like all chaos, also has its order.  Caracas, capital that pays homage to its geopolitical denomination and concentrates all types of capitals in a country that has been centralized for centuries:  the human, economic, and, thusly, existential.  Everything can be found here, everything coexists, everything joins and revolves.

Fiestas tradicionales, populares y religiosas de nuestro país

Sunday June 14th, 2009

Wednesday May 20th, 2009
